Objective :
Seasoned IT person who can function with limited supervision as the in country (China) IT person in a global IT dept. Able to service the needs of a +/- 50 person organization with one main office in Qingdao and several satellite offices/locations in the balance of the country.
Able to multi task and serve multiple masters as follows:
– Technologically be on the same page as the global IT organization and able to fill in as needed to serve global needs across the entire organization.
– Drive to achieve global IT objectives and initiatives and be the local organizations systems interface to the global IT organization.
– Provide outstanding service to the local organizations IT needs.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the specification, provision, installation, configuration and maintenance of Desktop and notebook computers, printers, scanners, cameras and other PC related hardware.
• Installation maintenance of PC base software as needed.
• Maintenance of software licenses
• Maintenance of security infrastructure firewalls, antivirus, VPN, etc.
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of Local Area Networks
• Support in country corporate users
• Establish and/or maintain ongoing relationships with ISVs, service providers and consultants.
• Conduct solution research as needed.
• Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of core business systems.
• Assist in systems evaluation, contract negotiations and purchasing
• Support the integration with the US business.
• Develop written procedures
• Training and user support
• Communicate with outside vendors and trading partners
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in systems or related profession
• Strong verbal and written skills
• 3-5 years experience in IT (systems) environment
• Technical skills in Microsoft windows, (desktop and server) Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel and Power point and Outlook), PC hardware maintenance (installation upgrades)
• Bi-lingual language (must speak Mandarin and English)
• Experience in equipment purchasing and vendor negotiations
